Dreams We Made Along the Way: A Journey Into the Shared World of Dreaming
Dreams are one of the few places where logic leaves us and our minds roam freely. They can be ridiculously funny, terrifying, emotional, heartwarming, or strangely familiar. Most of the time our dreams fade within minutes upon waking, but others linger with us for years and lead us to question what they mean. If they mean anything at all…
Dreams We Made Along the Way was born from a fascination with this elusive, subconscious world and a desire to share it with others. This book is a captivating and intimate collection of real dreams gathered from hundreds of people around the world.
Inside the pages are moments both momentary and vivid. Dreams that are hilarious, surreal, emotional, and at times unsettling. From absurd snippets to fully realized terrors, these accounts explore sleep paralysis, frequent symbols, unexplainable encounters, and the strange creation of the subconscious mind.
Some dreams will make you laugh. Others may linger long after you’ve closed the book. They will reveal patterns, fears, and curiosities that transcend age, background, and belief. Reminding us that while our waking lives may differ, our minds often overlap in unexpected ways while dreaming.
Now, this book does not interpret or explain any of the collected dreams. Instead, it invites you to observe, reflect, and step into the shared mystery of human dreaming. Open your mind, suspend disbelief, and journey into minds where reality loosens its grip.
How the Book Began
In 2016, I began writing down my own dreams as soon as I awoke in hopes of preserving the creations my subconscious mind created while I slept. What started as a personal habit soon blossomed into a passion rooted in curiosity and a deep appreciation for the dream world.
Sharing dreams has always been meaningful to me. Whether with friends, family, or other acquaintances these exchanges created moments of connection. Over time, the idea formed to collect dreams from others to further capture the depth and diversity of human dreaming and connect even more people together.
Using a simple Google form, I invited people to share their dreams with me for this book. Submissions started coming in from across the globe and spanned from ordinary dreams, lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis, nightmares, astral projection, and everything in between.
Some dreams are only a few lines, others unfold like short stories. All of these dreams leave an impact and make you start thinking about your own.
