The Deepest Way to Speak: Connecting Humans to Angels with Music

Young Voices: A Sonic Journey by solenne

I first wrote the chord progression to it back in July this year and set it aside for a long time. After deciding to take on an artistic journey, I decided to pick it back up, extend it a bit, and add some percussion to it, and record a more polished version of it. That song is somewhat sentimental to me because it marks the beginning of that entire journey, and it also shows some of my experimental side (messing around with mouth sounds and harmonies), and it’s also something I can be pretty proud of considering that I made it in about one hour in an app I barely knew how to use.

What Do I Write Music For?

I write music because I have a need to express myself in ways that are enjoyable for me and others, sometimes plain words cannot convey the whole feeling I’m trying to expel — and that’s when sounds come into play. Music **does** help me through many difficult situations, like I stated before it helps me express myself, but it also helps me understand myself and help others understand themselves.

I began learning the guitar when I was around 10 with the help of my dad, but during the pandemic I stopped and only got back to it around 2023, which is when I really got into it. I first started on a quite old and poor quality guitar that had an okay-ish sound, but as I got better, I was given my dad’s old guitar from the 90’s, which I still use in all my recordings; I eventually bought myself an electric guitar and then I started writing my own music and not just lyrics.

What Does it Mean to Me?

Music, to me, is the connection of humans to angels, the deepest and most profound way one can speak, using sounds and words in a way that if done carefully, can do wonders to the mind. I believe that with the correct harmony and words-play, you can convey any feeling, even happiness in the darkest moments.

As I stated a couple times already, music is extremely sentimental to me and is the best way to express myself when words aren’t enough, when the whole world is disappearing around me, the only thing I can hold on to is my guitar.

I put this demo together in about an hour after picking bandlab up for the first time. Intro (Bandlab Demo)

I recorded this cover for a good friend that has been going through some hard times, I changed Katie (which was the original name of the person) to Zoey so it relates more to her. Zoey Don’t Be Depressed (Yoñlu cover)

About Me:

I’m solenne (yes, all lowercase), I recently decided to take on an “artistic journey” and try to finish a solo album until somewhere around 2026. I will be producing the entirety of it by myself, I’m not sure if I’ll want it commercially released or if I’ll just keep it for some close friends — guess we’re gonna figure it out when we get there.

I’m a 16 year old Brazilian in the city of São Paulo who’s a self taught guitarist and singer (though still a bit of a shitty one), who just wants to make some music I and other people enjoy. I have been learning guitar ever since I was around 13 years old and couldn’t stop playing since then, music has always been somewhat present in my life and it truly is the most honest and profound way I can express myself.
